Coordinate Conversion Computing Program

Step 1: Obtain GPS Coordinates
  • Using In-Game GPS Device:
    • Equip your GPS device in-game.
    • Note down the GPS X, GPS Y, and Altitude values displayed.
  • Using a Map:
    • Locate your position on the in-game map or an external DayZ map.
    • Estimate your GPS X and GPS Y coordinates based on your location.

 

Step 2: Enter Coordinates into the Converter
  • Input your GPS X, GPS Y, and Altitude values into the corresponding fields in the converter.

 

Step 3: Convert Coordinates
  • Click the “Convert Coordinates” button.
  • The converter will display:
    • Game Coordinates (X, Y, Altitude): These are the converted coordinates that match the in-game map.
    • Formatted Coordinates: A string in the format X;Y;Altitude for easy copying.

 

Step 4: Open Map Location
  • A link labeled “Open Map Location” will appear after conversion.
  • Click this link to open the DayZ Ginfo map in a new tab, centered on your converted coordinates.
  • This visual confirmation helps ensure your coordinates are accurate.

Verifying Your Location

  • Check the Map:

    • After clicking “Open Map Location”, compare the marked location with your actual in-game surroundings.
    • Look for landmarks, terrain features, or nearby towns to verify accuracy.

  • Adjust if Necessary:

    • If the location is accurate:
      • You’re all set! Use the coordinates for navigation or sharing with friends.
    • If the location is too far off:
      • Move to a new location in-game to get updated GPS readings.
      • Repeat the conversion process with the new coordinates.
      • This helps account for any variance or inaccuracies in the initial reading.
